The Center for Hope’s Scotch Plains residence, Peggy’s House, is a state-of-the-art hospice facility in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. The free-standing residence has 30 single occupancy suites, all with a private bath, offering medically fragile individuals a beautiful, home like setting teamed with a compassionate, professional and attentive staff.
There are multiple areas, both inside and out, for patients and families to enjoy. During a time of limited visitation, please use the following 360-degree videos to tour the facility remotely. The Center’s Scotch Plains residence has 30 single-occupancy suites spread among three wings. Suites are tastefully furnished and have a private bath. Each suite has a flat screen tv with cable and free wi-fi. Additionally, each room is scheduled to get its own private heating and cooling system, allowing patients, families and our medical personnel to adjust the room’s temperature to suit the individual patient’s needs. Also, in the current time of uncertainty, the Center is installing connected iPads in each suite to assist with video-visitation and our new digital food-ordering system.

Residents and guests alike are welcomed to Peggy’s House with our inviting main atrium. At the Center of the facility, the atrium connects each of Peggy’s House’s three wings to one another. It also houses the chapel, dining room and children’s play room.

Whatever your taste, patients of the Center for Hope enjoy restaurant-quality food throughout their stay. From a robust ‘all-day’ menu (available throughout the day, 7 days a week) to a variety of daily specials, patients are presented with food options acceptable to even the most discerning of palates. Additionally, patients and families are encouraged to speak with our kitchen staff about options NOT on our daily menus. New this year, the Center will be introducing a digital ordering system. Patients, on their in-suite iPads, will be able to order their meals from the comfort of their own suites. Families will also be able to order items for their loved ones remotely, from an internet connected device. Patients can enjoy means here, in our comfortable dining room, or in their individual suites.

Each wing of Peggy’s House has its own additional living room / TV room. Adjacent to the wing’s kitchenette and outdoor patio, the room is inviting and comfortable…frequently used by patients and visitors alike.

Both of the Center’s residences have a non-denominational chapel for patients and families to utilize. Our chapels have been witness to weddings, christenings, religious services, and group meetings. The rooms offer an ideal setting for worship or to sit for quiet prayer and peaceful reflection.

Peggy’s House also has a quiet, relaxing library for all to enjoy. Patients and families can sit with a good book in one of the comfortable library chairs. With beautiful views of the woods outside, many guests utilize the room for some quiet computer time while their loved one is receiving care or resting.

In suburban Scotch Plains, Peggy’s House sits next to the Ash Brook Reservation, a nature preserve with historic ties to the Revolutionary War. As such, the residence sits next to a lush and green wooded area with breathtaking views year round. The Center has various shaded sitting areas – ideal places to visit with family and enjoy some fresh air. In response to COVID-19, we’ve set up a large tent with tables and seating to facilitate outdoor visits.
